Littlehampton Angling club and Littlehampton council are hosting a match on the 21st June 2008 called the BIG FISH. It's sponsored by Abu Garcia and there are several thousands of pounds worth of prizes. £10 to enter. Contact 01903 722 769 or visit www.ldac.co.uk for application forms. Book in is at 10am and presentation is at 5.30m. This should be a great event and it is good to see that a local council are helping to raise the profile of sea angling. Even better is that 75% of the entrance fees are going to be donated to the RNLI do a fantastic job who have helped save many anglers since they were set up. Please go along and show your support by fishing the match because its sucess relies on support from you the anglers. All skill levels welcome.

Live Fish 5 was a great success and I would like to say thanks for all those that contributed to Team SSF on the night. Between us we managed to collect £100.00 worth of sponsors. I will update you with the total figures once they have been calculated by the guys at the SAS.

BIGFISH

SSF MEET 27th Jan Seaford

Im am going to be doing a daytime comp on sunday 27th Jan at seaford. It will be the first SSF (www.sussexseafishing.co.uk) meet of 2007.

As usual its going to be a fun meet with a match aspect. Ideal for anyone looking to get used to the match situation in a friendly environment or just matchmen who have no other meets on. It will be 1 rod and 3 hooks maximum.

The book in is between 9-9.15am at the buckle car park and fishing is 10-3. Ideally as its a friendly kind of match we will all fish near each other so that we can operate catch and release but you can of course keep the fish you want to eat them and just weigh them in at the end. size charts will be given out on the day and entry will be £3.00 each which will go towards prizes, most likely cash. I probably wont be fishing myself due to the back (and to give you all a chance ) so I will be around to offer help where needed, weigh fish and i may also try and get some video of the days events for the site.

Finally, if the weather is really rough then we will either fish newhaven east arm or the hope inn, it will be decided on the day so try to get there on time. if you think you may be late then pm me your mob number so i can call you and let you know on the day.

If you havent fished it before but want to give it a go then you will need the usual beach gear, some 3 hook rigs, leads between 4oz plain and 6oz grip depending on conditions. Most baits will work but worm is a must, in my opinion.
